ABOUT THE ARTIST
Nai Nai Bird is a Butchulla Elder from the Wonamutta Clan, who was taught the Butchulla art, culture and history by the Caboonya (Keeper of Records)—Aunty Olga Miller.
For more than two decades Nai Nai has worked with governments, educational institutes, National Parks and Wildlife Service, community organisations and private businesses to teach the traditional culture of the Butchulla. She has recorded traditional laws, stories and knowledge in paintings to pass onto future Butchulla generations.
The artwork is in the traditional style as taught to her by the Caboonya. Nai Nai's original artwork uses acrylic paint and handmade brushes.
